Unveiling of second Gingerbread in Ormskirk
A second gingerbread man statue is set to be unveiled in Ormskirk to mark the launch of a new convenience store.
The newly-refurbished Spar store on Southport Road will open its doors to the public on Tuesday (March 31st).
And taking pride of place at the new-look store will be a ‘life-size’ gingerbread man, which is set to form part of Ormskirk’s Gingerbread Trail.
The statue has been designed by local artist Kevan Wiggins and will be the second one to be situated in the town.
To mark the occasion, anyone visiting the store on Tuesday afternoon will be able to enjoy free original recipe Ormskirk gingerbread and a free coffee.
There will also be face-painting and balloons, a vintage delivery truck, and a guest appearance from ‘Sally Woods’, the original Ormskirk gingerbread lady.
The fun starts at 2pm and all are welcome to attend.
The first Ormskirk Gingerbread Man was unveiled at Town Green School by the Lord Mayor of West Lancashire.
Adrianna Usher’s winning design was selected to feature on the first of the Ormskirk Gingerbreads which will form part of the Ormskirk Gingerbread Project.
