Ormskirk Civic Hall 19th Apr 13

The Weavers have been going strong since 1975 cutting their teeth in local folk clubs and in that time have never wavered from their original motto of 'Keep Folk Smiling'.

Since then they have enjoyed non-stop success, and together have become some of the country's most popular entertainers, with a large fan club and a great following at their concerts. They can even boast a Number 1 hit in Tasmania with their perennial favourite 'The Blackpool Belle', a song that also reached Number 3 in New Zealand.

Over the past three decades The Houghton Weavers have recorded thirty albums, three DVDs and have numerous radio and television appearances to their credit.

The Houghton Weavers consist of Tony Berry who is the group's lead singer and front man, David Littler on Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin and Vocals, and Steve Millington who adds Keyboards, Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Ukulele, Mandolin, Accordion and Vocals to the group's sound.
Together they entertain their audiences with humorous jokes and antidotes and sing 'popular' folk songs from raucous traditional songs to beautiful ballads done in their own inimitable style.

No two evenings in the Weavers company are ever the same, thanks to the second half of their act being given over to the audiences 'requests', preferably for their own songs!!!. However this unpredictability can, and invariably does, lead to some interesting results.
So come and join in the music and fun at Ormskirk Civic Hall on the 19th April 2014, and enjoy an evening with the Houghton Weavers and a smile!
