    Crabtree Lane remains closed to through traffic due refurbishment to the canal swing-bridge. According to the workmen on site, the target date for re-opening if all goes well is the end of March (there is a possibility work could extend into early April).

    Called at three favourite restaurants this afternoon and all closed with normal weekday opening. Ended up in the Grapes at Croston with bar meals all day, and better than most restaurant meals we had had recently. Excellent.
