A 'rifleman' is being sought by British Transport Police after an incident near the Ormskirk to Preston railway line in the Burscough area on Tuesday tea time.
QLocal's Roger Blaxall saw a liveried BTP Focus estate racing to the scene along the A59; this morning a BTP PR officer told QLocal more about the drama.
She said: “An officer was despatched to the Burscough area near the railway line shortly after 5pm on Tuesday, 17 May, following reports of a person seen with a rifle.
“On attending, the person, who officers believe may have been hunting in the area, had left the scene.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact BTP on 0800 405040 or text 61016.”
