It looks like the Borough council will be laying the law down as disquiet gathers about how Aughton’s Granville Park’s been changing - and not always for the better...
Recent years have seen the growth of new developments which haven’t always been in keeping with the quiet gentility of one of Aughton's most sought after locations; do the words 'stable', 'doors' and 'horses' come to mind?
One of the latest planning applications will see a change of use for the former Aughton Grange care home into seven luxury apartments with a new rear extension to the building which was a former family home in its heyday.
One local who was at the December Aughton PC meeting was all in favour of the plans but said she'd been concerned about how many outlandish new homes planners had allowed in recent years; there are currently six conversions going on in the conservation and heritage area with QLocal's Roger Blaxall taking these photos recently; it's getting harder to find a traditional, untouched home in the Park area.
