A lorry driver will be making an exhibition of himself soon in Burscough!
Tim O'Connor makes model fairground rides and exhibited them last year to raise funds for Queenscourt - and this Saturday is doing it all over again at the Stanley Club on Sunday, March 25 from 11am-4pm.
He decided to collect money for the hospice as they looked after his wife, Beryl, before she died from cancer.
At the free event, Tim, from Skem. will again showcase his models of fairground attractions including waltzers, ghost trains and a moon rocket, which are based on rides from the 50s and 60s.
People will be able to see a Diamond T American truck once used in the WW2 which will be parked outside the club.
Said Tim: “Last year’s event was such a success, I've decided to do it again. Hopefully people who missed it last year will be able to come this time.”
Visitors will also be able to see a model of The Speedway, a ride which used to be found at Southport fair; Tim worked on this with his wife, Heather.
The event will again be sponsored by Southport's Silcock’s Amusements and Martland’s Skip Hire, Burscough with Tim is hoping to recruit more exhibitors.
