The doors closed for the final time at the RBS bank on Derby St., Ormskirk on Tuesday afternoon.
It's believed four members of staff have been made redundant; no one at the bank wanted a final 'for old times sake ' photo taken by QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall - well it was hardly a happy day for them or indeed for Ormskirk.
While rival banks like the Nat West, Barclays and HSBC have had 'touchy feely' makeovers, the RBS - in it marvellous 'retro' building - was resolutely old fashioned with a proper counter.
One lady wondered if in another five years there will be ANY banks in the town - don't bank on it...
