One of the biggest free family events in the North West of England revs up on the streets of Ormskirk in August, and you can help make that event an even bigger success.

The Ormskirk MotorFest has been a hugely popular occasion since it began in 2011, attracting around 30,000 people in 2015.

The event, organised by Aintree Circuit Club and supported by West Lancashire Borough Council, takes place on Sunday 28 August this year and is planned to be bigger and better than previous years.
Organisers are appealing for sponsors to come forward and help make it even more special for this year and sustainable for years to come.

Councillor John Hodson, portfolio holder for Planning and Development, said: "The Ormskirk MotorFest has proved incredibly popular with people across the North West and we are appealing for sponsors to come forward and support it.

"We are not talking about huge amounts of money. If a number of businesses or individuals donate a small sum of money that can make a big difference to the event for this year and the future. Given the huge numbers of people the MotorFest attracts this is a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase your business or organisation."

This year's event will see some truly wonderful vehicles will line up to take part in the Concours de Elegance competition in a special area in Coronation Park. Judges will cast their expert eye over them and winners will be selected in 13 classes along with an overall winner. The Concours de Elegance is being sponsored by Halsall-based Carequick Ltd Air Conditioning, which specialises in building services, air conditioning and mechanical maintenance.

This attraction will complement the superb town centre displays which will feature a fantastic variety of classic and modern cars and motorbikes. Many vehicles will join in parade laps around the town centre to entertain the crowds.
An added attraction for all the family will be the Vintage and Handmade Fair due to take place in Ormskirk town centre on the day of the MotorFest.

Mike Ashcroft, Aintree Circuit Club chairman, said: "The Ormskirk MotorFest will be a fantastic day out for all the family and I would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy the event. If anyone wants to sponsor the event please contact the Council or myself."

Anyone interested in sponsoring the event should contact Colin Brady, Technical Services Manager, at colin.brady@westlancs.gov.uk<mailto:...stlancs.gov.uk> or on 01695 585125, or contact Mike Ashcroft at mja@aintree.org.uk or on 07821 230 961 / 0151 525 5060 (eve).

Councillor Hodson said: "With so many visitors expected to come to MotorFest we would also hope that town centre businesses will take advantage of this opportunity and open their premises to customers on the day."
