'QLocal's busy Ormskirk reporter Roger Blaxall made another trip to the brilliant Southport Model Centre (DKG Hobbies) on Monday as it's slowly cleared of stock following the recent sad death of its owner Dave Jackson.

His sister Angela and her partner and friends are slowly but surely making headway in sorting and selling stock - mostly model railway items - and she revealed how 'model rail royalty' would pop into the Princes St. shop to chat with Dave and buy trains and accessories; none other than Sir Rod Stewart and Jools Holland.

She said: "He'd love watching model railway shows on TV and pointing out what he'd sold to people like Jools."
