Crumbs!
The bill to repair a motorway bridge is believed to be £250,000 and counting after a 19-year-old truck driver crashed his artic full of biscuits on the busy M6 near Lancaster in late July.
The MJ Griffiths driver escaped with minor injuries on a return trip from Scotland; he'd been to Glasgow market and was returning with a load of biscuits for a Liverpool discount chain when his wagon smashed into the motorway bridge on 26 July.
It closed the M6 southbound all day with severe knock on affects for northbound traffic, too.
A spokesman for Highways England told QLocal: "We have a claims team who would contact the haulier; the haulier would then put our claims team in touch with its insurers and a discussion/bill will follow."
