Burscough Cricket Club looked to be on a sticky wicket after it was criticised in the recent report on the village's first YoBFest which took place last week.
We are delighted to post this response which the club feels will set the record straight:
'Burscough Cricket Club feels that we have been unfairly respresented in the article this week. Below is our response, we would be very grateful if this was published at your earliest convenience:-
Burscough Cricket Club would like to state that at no time did we prevent stalls from attending the festival. In fact, we specifically stated to the organisers that stall holders were welcome to park their cars in the car park and walk their merchandise to the stalls.
Furthermore, we provided the organisers with assistance in, for example, food concession contacts.
Right from the start, we were open and honest with the organisers that without a very warm 'indian summer' our ground would be not be fit for fairground rides to be sited on the pitch. We no longer allow rides to be sited in the car park because this takes up all the car park, meaning no parking for disabled visitors, volunteers , staff or stall holders.
This response has the approval of the full Burscough Cricket Club Executive Committee.
Regards,
Barbara Bunn
Executive Committee
Burscough Cricket Club'
