Burscough will remember the Armistice in a number of ways this weekend, with one of the first ceremonies at HMS Ringtail Monument, Pippin Street, on Saturday 10 November.
There will be a short service and a two minute silence after which wreaths will be laid at the monument. Guests should gather at around 10.00am; the Service will start 10.30am, and all are welcome.
Said Rufford's Lawrence Critchley: "It is a great honour for me to be lay two wreaths at the HMS Ringtail monument this year on the 10th of November. This is the first time I have laid wreaths at the monument since it was originally dedicated back in 2004.
"One is on behalf of the Fleet Air Arm Association (Greater Manchester branch ), the second is on behalf of Fly Navy Heritage Trust/Navy Wings; its aircraft are the living memorial to all those who have served in the Royal Naval Air Service and Fleet Air Arm since its formation."
One of the flight's aircraft the Fairey Swordfish did fly pasts over the HMS Ringtail monument this summer - there is a donation box in Booths Cafe for Fly Navy Heritage Trust.
Lawrence is an honorary member of the Fleet Air Arm Association; https://www.navywings.org.uk/about-u...eritage-trust/ - You Tube flypast here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AlAPFmHl8c&t=44s
