This weekend's two day exhibition at The Stanley Club in Burscough was a massive success with over 1000 visitors.
Deputy Mayor, Cllr. Noel Delaney, did the honours on Saturday morning, opening the event which featured exhibitions by Paul Smith (Ormskirk Museum), Richard Houghton of Lathom & Burscough Military Heritage Society, the Ormskirk & District Family History Society and the Burscough Heritage Group.
Said Michael: "Thanks to Lawrence Critchley and Debra Baldwin who helped set everything up but most of all to everyone who came along over the two days and especially those who kindly brought along photos to scan.
"One gentleman donated hundreds of old local photos which included 11 images from HMS Ringtail and a great photo of Kennedy's Sweet Shop from the 1950s.
"I was great to see so many people just chatting away to one another creating a wonderful community spirit.
"Cllr. Claire Cooper came along and was very impressed with the exhibition along with other local councillors."
Concluded Michael: "By the time the exhibition was all packed away and returned home around 7pm Sunday evening we were all shattered after a very enjoyable weekend."
