Car park improvement work continues at Preston Bus Station.

Improvement work is continuing on the car park levels at Preston Bus Station.

Levels one and two will reopen to the public on Tuesday, 31 October. The north ramp will reopen at lunchtime on the same day.

On the following day, Wednesday 1 November, the south ramp will close for the next stage of work on the car park levels. This involves closing a section of the car park on all levels, at the Guild Hall end of the building.

Signing will direct vehicles to the north ramp during this work.

The bus station is owned by Lancashire County Council.

Andrew Barrow, project manager for the county council, said: "The latest work on levels one and two is nearly completed and they are about to reopen, so we're now moving onto the next stage of the project.

"We hope that people will continue to bear with us while this work is carried out. We’re doing everything we can to minimise the disruption caused.

"The glass walkway to the Guild Hall will remain closed while this work takes place, but people can still exit through the bus concourse and walk across the road to the Guild Hall during this time.

"People using the car park levels now will notice a big difference compared to how it looked before the work was done. It's a brighter and nicer place to park your car."

Elsewhere in the bus station, the redevelopment work is continuing well with improvements to the concourse, the creation of the new coach station and work taking place to improve the lifts and stairwells.
