Clergy, funeral directors and MP Rosie Cooper were among the guests at the dedication of west Lancashire’s impressive cemetery and crematorium on Friday.
A short service, led by Rt. Rev Thomas Williams the auxiliary Bishop of Liverpool, was a truly ecumenical affair with contributions from the Church of England, Roman Catholic Church and United Reformed Church who all had representatives at the event held in glorious sunshine on Friday morning.
Afterwards, the MP spoke of the realisation of her dream from 2004 which came to fruition a decade later; the facility's now a very popular choice with funeral directors and families from all over west Lancashire, Sefton and beyond.
Manager Steve Glen told QLocal that some 1100 cremations and around 20 burials have taken place since it was opened 18 months ago off Pippin St. with plans for the future seeing the facility exploit its beautiful setting with a nature area and other enhancements.
