These are the scenes after a dramatic ten mile chase through west Lancashire ended on Park Road, Ormskirk, on Saturday vafternoon.
The driver of this Peugeot 106 was arrested for driving without documents after being picked up by a police car with ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) as he left the M6 driving along the M58 towards Merseyside.
Pursued by officers in powerful BMW 5 series tourers, he careered off the road behind Swiss Cottage next to the main Ormskirk - Liverpool railway line at around 3pm; no one was injured in the drama and QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall took these pictures as AAA Recoveries of Leyland recovered the stricken car at around 6pm.
