Another piece in the jigsaw of the anticipated redevelopment of the old Atkinson Kirby site can now be revealed by QLocal Ormskirk.
According to Jigsaw Homes of Manchester, it's planning to deliver 51 new homes on site, all of which will be for affordable rent, and delivered by Chorley Community Housing, via Homes England funding.
The proposed mix is as follows: 20 x 1 bed 2 person flats, 21 x 2 bed 4 person houses and 10 x 3 bed 5 person houses - of the 20 flats, 10 of them will be available to people over 55.
Work should start on site before March 2019.
Other plans for the site include a new Lidl discount store and six light industrial units, all subject to Borough Council approval.
