Cushty!
A fabulous fundraiser raised thousands of pounds for a local charity last month.
Community Link Foundation organised the 'Only Fools and Three Courses' event at Southport Rugby Club and while the cash is still being counted, it raised over £10,000!
The event was sponsored by Mark and Lyn Cunningham of Anthony James Estate Agents on Hoghton Street whose incredibly generous donation of £10,000 made the event such a huge success with all the money raised from ticket sales going directly to the charity.
The fundraising night - part of Southport Comedy Festival - saw all three courses served by actors in character from the hit TV programme. There was themed comedy throughout the evening before the DeadBeats entertained the guests, and the evening ended with a disco and plenty of dancing.
Mark Cunningham, of Anthony James Estate Agents, told QLocal: "We were delighted to sponsor this event to help Community Link Foundation. Our business is located at the heart of Southport and it is important to us to support people in the area that we live and work in.
"Over the last few years we have seen the great work that Community Link Foundation does so we wanted to show our support. It was a great night and we look forward to the next fundraiser."
Community Link Foundation gives out grants to support individuals and organisations in Southport, Formby, Ormskirk and the surrounding areas.
Enda Rylands, its chair, added: "We are incredibly grateful to Anthony James Estate Agents for sponsoring this event, it really made a difference to the success of the night.
"And thank you very much to everyone who attended the event and offered their support. We had a great night and people can be assured that the money raised will be put to good use in the community."
