Grass skirts, colourful garlands and hairy legs* saw Booths staff embrace the party spirit this weekend at its popular Burscough store that's now one year old.

Big hearted bosses provided a birthday brunch on Friday and Saturday with many of the staff donning summer 'costume' including manager Richard Ford who is pictured with staff.

And there was a serious side to the event, too with money and awareness being raised for the store's new adopted local charity, the Alfie Lund Fund (http://www.thealfielundfund.co.uk/) and a gorgeous cake baked to remember its local 'roots' on the former HMS Ringtail site.

It's hard to believe the impact Booths has had on the local retail scene and Burscough can only become even more popular as a shopping destination with the new Aldi opening next door soon.

*and that was only the women!
