Staff at the Homebase Store on the Meols Cop Retail Park were told yesterday that the store will be closing to make way for a Sainsbury's Superstore.
No date has been confirmed as to when Homebase will close and the new Sainsbury's will open.
If the new Sainsbury's is built Sefton Council have told the firm that it must keep the branch on Lord Street open for five years.

What? Apply a bit of initiative. This will have to go through several committees and sub committees to be referred back to the initial application to be referred to another committee for approval with all on the gravy train being compensated for costs.
The cost of the consultations will exceed the construction proposal and then it will be deemed too costly as the consultation payments will eaten into the overall planned cost.
You couldn't make it up could you.

That would be an inconvenience to the travellers. All that traffic keeping them awake.

I welcome these units. Dont usually go into town in car but had to last week. Ticket blew over on dash and got a parking notice. Appealed but of course turned down.
