In super scorching temperatures, the three planters on Burscough Street near Hattersleys Retail Park have all been lovingly revamped!
Two received a fresh coat of wood stain and were rigorously weeded and the third's also been weeded and replanted with scented herbs and flowering plants specially selected not only for their bright colours - but also to attract bees and other insects.
Next time you are passing through, pause for a moment to appreciate the efforts of the ‘OWL’ (Our West Lancashire) community group!
Perhaps they could turn their attention to the fire station roundabout next - and then the Booths roundabout where Lord Lucan and Shergar are rumoured to be hiding out...
