The County Councillor who was instrumental in banning HGV's travelling through Ormskirk was one of the first on the scene at a crash involving an articulated truck and car near Ormskirk police station on Wednesday night.
And County Councillor John Fillis even had to tell police that the Argos truck was too heavy to travel along Derby St.!
He told QLocal reporter Roger Blaxall that he stayed with the lady car driver until her husband arrived - her car was damaged in the incident at just after eight o'clock on 12 September.
Said John: "Every truck has a weight identification plate on its trailer and it was obvious that this Argos driver was flouting the weight ban."
