Not everyone's convinced that the new look town centre is an actual improvement in what's been replaced.
QLocal's Roger Blaxall broke the story last week on the removal of certain planters on Moor St. with the plinth at the junction with Moorgate the next to go in a bid to make the area more market friendly: https://www.qlocal.co.uk/ormskirk/new...y-55023561.htm
Reporter Roger Blaxall took these photos yesterday as the market adapted to the changes.

SAVE THE PLINTH . It's part of Ormskirk . It's where they put the Christmas tree . There are no bars near it , so no need for extra seating there .
When did this go out to public consultation ?
Bring back the lovely flower beds and seating .

I note where the lovely planters and seating used to be on Moor Street is now being used for car parking on the pavements and advertising signs as shown on one of your photos .
Hardly improving Ormskirk Centre . When did this go out to public consultation ?

I thought WLBC was an inclusive Council ? Removal of seating, allowing vans and excessive signage on pavements - the message is clear - if you are elderly, disabled through sight or mobility then don't come to Ormskirk centre because it can be dangerous for you ( lots of pavement clutter to get in your way ) and anyway at the plinth end of Moor Street there is no where for you to sit if you fancy a sit down. Oh and I hear that the plinth is to go too - are this non inclusive Council doing away with the civic Christmas tree ?
And more market stalls ? - yes that's fine - locate them along Church Street and leave that lovely and well maintained planter for all to enjoy.
