The Advertiser's slashing its price in the new year in a bid to arrest sales and find new readers for the failing paper.
It's seen sales slide year on year and the next Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) reports in three months time aren't expected to reveal any more good news, either.
Now written in Liverpool, the Addy is a shadow of its former self and is more a life style paper now rather than a local newspaper. There are no reader's letters, no editorial comment column and precious little in the way of community news which used to be a major feature of the paper even ten years ago when it had offices next to Ormskirk library.
In this week's edition, much of its advertising is from its parent company Reach - formerly Trinity Mirror; how long before we're reporting the paper's demise?

Would you buy it if they had a photo of a man lying on a bench?!?! That's the hard hitting news you think the people want clearly!

The Addy went down the pan years ago. Full of adverts, barely any actual local news. Didn't bother attending local events etc. They insulted people for years by charging almost a quid to read nothing but paid-for adverts.
Run into the ground by idiots
