Report from Steve Kirton

The West Lancs MG Owners Club held its monthly meeting on Thursday evening and by all accounts it was a bit 'special' with all funds raised going into our pot to help deserving charities at later dates.

So far, some £730's been donated this year, and members held a garage auction with folk having a clear out of their garages and bringing along anything car, garage, tool related that's been hanging around and just generally been getting in the way or under your feet - we've all been there haven't we?

Without further ado, it got under way with auctioneer for the night Noel Skinner who gavel in hand and with his porter Nigel Malyan commenced our auction. and with the lots coming thick and fast items up for bids ranged from car manuals, air horns, chrome spinners, mirrors and even a welding unit!

Some 41 members attended the auction and a total of £267 was raised which goes into our charity pot; in all a very successful night with most of the members bidding on items and others relieved that they had finally cleared a bit of room in the garage to finally be able to fit the car in again...

Special thanks go out to Briars Hall for letting us use one of its function rooms and to Noel Skinner and his little helper Nigel for overseeing the proceedings.

*If you like socialising, car runs while having a bit of fun with like minded people and have a classic car you would be most welcome to join us; check us out every third Thursday 8.00pm at Briars Hall Lathom or you can have a look at our Facebook page (West Lancs MG Owners) or even have a peek at our website: www.westlancsmg.co.uk
