There was pain and gain at a charity workout for the Legacy Rainbow House which raised a magnificent £2,500 recently.

More than 120 ladies and gents including teams from Gymetc, Leyland Leisure Centre, Nuffield Health Gym and Taylor Patterson took part in the third Rainbow House Workout-athon at the Park Hall Plaza, Charnock Richard, nr Chorley raising over £2,500 for the Mawdesley based charity with further sponsorship money
still to come.



Participants enjoyed three hours of fun filled and energetic workouts including Zumba Fitness, Insanity & PiYo and Les Mills Body Combat and Body Attack all provided by qualified fitness instructors who gave up their time to do this event free. Everyone was out to have fun whilst exercising and there were some colourful outfits including a Rainbow Unicorn!

The instructors were Zumba Fitness with Mata Stratakou, Emma Waddington, Steph Devane and Lauryn Hodgeon; Insanity & PiYo with Penny Seddon; Les Mills Body Combat & Body Attack with Gill Swift & Rachel Holland.

The event was supported by Ben Rose Estate Agents and the room was donated by Park Hall Hotel.

And participants were also able to sign up at a special price of £10 per person for the 8th Rainbow House Ramble and starting training for the 5, 11 or 18 mile walk which will be taking place on 6th May 2017.

Rainbow House receives no statutory funding but has to raise £10,000 per week to fund and develop its services. It is reliant on donations, grants and fund-raising activities. Its conductive education offers rehabilitation, education and fun for children, young people and adults with neurological conditions such a cerebral palsy, brain injury, stroke, MS and genetic conditions. Individuals with global developmental delay, undiagnosed and genetic conditions who also may benefit.
Conductive education teaches skills to empower the person to lead a more active and independent life. The aim is to help each individual achieve their full potential.
Rainbow House currently provides over 250 hours of Conductive Education each week. Conductive Education sessions are between 1 – 3 hours and for some happen more than once a week.
