This match saw Southport's Chris Hoare in excellent nick as he compiled an important and superb break of 44 to capture the 'Break of the Week' prize this time around - Chris's break began with eight reds remaining in the frame and Chris was trailing by a few points. He potted a fine opening red ball and proceeded to take the pink ball as his colour. With an opportunity to possibly win the frame with this visit, Chris took the chance with both hands as he continued to pot a further five reds, all with either pink or black balls, with some excellent potting, especially a superb red into a tight middle pocket, and terrific positional play. Chris arrived at the penultimate red and unfortunately narrowly missed it to bring an end to a classy contribution on 44 and shortly after he sealed the frame.
