Maghull RBL A continue to to do all they can and recorded another fine result this particular week with a terrific 6-0 demolition of Aughton Institute E. This outcome sees them maintain second position in the league standings were they sit those five points off the pace and it was made even more impressive as the Aughton E outfit were suffering their first defeat since mid October. Realistically, they are battling for the runners-up spot with the side directly below them. The Aughton E team drop into fifth slot in the table.

Olympic BC B ended their evening's work with a solid 5-1 away triumph over Aughton Institute A. This result sees them continue in third place in the league proceedings and they find themselves two points adrift of the side directly above them but they do have an important match in hand over the Maghull A lads. The match also saw Olympic B's Paul Williams in tremendous nick with a awesome break of 67 in his frame success.

Paul's break began after he had his opponent in a snooker and he failed to escape from this leaving the cue ball short. A miss was called but Paul elected to take on a pot as he felt his opponent would escape from the snooker next time if the miss was employed. With thirteen reds of the frame remaining, Paul took on a tricky thin cut to a centre pocket, which he got, and finished low on the black ball. He then potted the black, going into the cluster of reds which split beautifully, and was positioned perfectly on his next red. Paul then took a further five reds, all with blacks, in that usual quick fire, fluent style of his with precise potting and superb positional play, this took Paul's break to forty eight. After potting the next red ball, Paul had to go up the table for a baulk colour and a further red and baulk colour followed before he came back down the table. He then took his next red, this time with another black, but after dispatching that black he over screwed it and finished very close to his next red. This left Paul with a very difficult cut-back red which was made harder as they lay very close together. Unfortunately, Paul narrowly missed the red and brought an end to a terrific break on sixty seven.
