Vandals set the Park Road public public toilets alight in a mindless attack.
It leaves the hard pressed council tax payer picking up the tab for repairs after last Wednesday night's arson: this from the LFRS incident page:
'Fire crews were called to reports of a fire on Park Road, Ormskirk.
The fire involved a toilet block outbuilding. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. A thermal imaging camera was also in use to assess the scene and check for signs of fire spread. They were in attendance approximately 20 minutes.
It is believed the fire may have been started deliberately and an investigation is underway.'
QLocal is now trying to establish how much repairs will cost although the toilets have stayed open: last night the doors which are supposed to lock automatically at 8 o'clock each evening were still open, presumably broken.

Say a lot about the value of the town side CCTV. As far as Policing is concerned it would seem we’re on our own! There is more chance of meeting Lord Lucan than Policeman on foot in and around The Town Centre!
