Ailing Tories lost three seats in yesterday's Borough election which saw a turnout of just 36 per cent.
As one woman in Home Bargain Ormskirk said yesterday afternoon: "I'm not voting. I don't even known what they do with my Council tax."
With apathy like that, it took the shine of what promised to be an exciting day, especially for parties like OWL who had mixed fortunes with Ian Davis - out for the count literally following a knee operation - defeating Labour's Gareth Dowling and Jane Thompson losing our narrowly to Labour stalwart Noel Delaney who will now be the Borough mayor for 2018/19.
Of all five parties contesting the elections, Labour came across as the most 'professional' with its glossy Labour Rose brochure and full pags ads. in The Champ - details of how much it all cost will be released in the next few week's by the Borough Council returning officer ... clearly it was money well spent.
