An Aughton pensioner's has been left with serious leg injuries following a collision in Scarisbrick.
The incident happened at around 12.40pm on Southport Road on Thursday (November 16) when a Ford KA veered across the carriageway onto the opposite side and collided with a BMW 320D near to the Halliwell Jones Mini Garage.
The driver of the Ford, a 75-year-old Aughton woman, suffered serious fractures to her legs and was taken to Aintree Hospital to be treated; the other female driver, aged 67 and also from Aughton, sustained minor injuries.
Sgt Finn Quainton from the Road Policing Unit said: “We are trying to establish why this collision occurred and need anyone who may have seen anything that could assist us with our investigation to come forward and speak to us.”
