League fixtures took a break this week as clubs and pubs hosted the next round of the pool singles knockout; 64 players battled to be in the next round which isn’t scheduled to be played until next Easter.
In the 2016/17 season, we introduced a cup competition - the first winners were The Prince William who also won the league that season. Last year the cup was won by the Bridge and the league used some of its funds to buy a perennial trophy, like our league trophy that is held by winning pub/club until the end of the following season.
The league cup starts this week, the teams were drawn into 3 champions league style divisions and each team plays each other team in its mini-league home and away.
The team winning each league progress to the last 8 and cannot be drawn against each other in that round. The runners-up also progress along with the best performing two teams in the league’s 3rd spot.
League form was not taken into account, and any points gained in the league are completely disregarded.
We haven’t got the benefit of a website for these fixtures, so it’s a bit more work for the administrators
