Rainbow House, the Mawdesley based conductive education centre, is asking for everyone’s vote to obtain a £10,000 grant from the Aviva Community Fund for their Family Support Project.

The charity, who support children and young people whose lives are challenged by disability, have to raise all of their own funds. Through working with the families of the children they help, they recognised that the whole family needs support and would like to extend the help currently provided by their Parent Liaison Officer.

The project would see the provision of regular counselling sessions which would help with the isolation felt by may families which can lead to anxiety, depression or even a break down.

It would also allow for the introduction of Family Days out and Activity days for all the family and the siblings who often miss out due to the complexity of caring for a disabled child.

The project has been accepted by Aviva and joins others in the voting stage - the more people who vote for Rainbow House, the more likely it is that they will be successful. They need YOUR vote now – just follow this link or copy and paste it into your web browser. Once you have registered you can log in and vote up to a maximum of ten times! https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/v...t/view/17-6461

If you have any problems search for the Rainbow House project once you have logged in and the voting panel should appear.

Voting ends on 21st November; further information from Kat Nelson on 07341550708 or email k.nelson@thelegacy-rainbowhouse.com

Rainbow House receives no statutory funding but has to raise all of its funds to continue and develop its services. It is reliant on fund-raising events, grants and donations.

Rainbow House conductive education offers rehabilitation, education and fun for children, young people and adults with neurological conditions such a cerebral palsy, brain injury, stroke, MS and genetic conditions, while individuals with global developmental delay, undiagnosed and genetic conditions who also may benefit. Conductive education teaches skills to empower the person to lead a more active and independent life. The aim is to help each individual achieve their full potential.

Rainbow House currently provides over 250 hours of Conductive Education each week. Conductive Education sessions are between one and three hours and for some happen more than once a week.
