Looking for a family day out with a difference?
Why not come to Ormskirk on Sunday 15th July for the 3rd Annual Gingerbread Heritage Festival?
The Festival will be opened at 11.00am by the Mayor, Cllr. Noel Delaney, and starting at the Clock Tower, there will be a full programme of entertainment.
Children’s entertainer, Mr. Stix will keep the children occupied with a magic show balloon modelling and lots more. The popular, free to take part, Vintage Games will be back and parents will be able to keep an eye on the youngsters as we’ve even provided seats!
Performers will demonstrate circus skills with a chance for the children to have a go!
A special stage will be erected and music and singing acts ranging from rock, modern instrumental, middle of the road and vintage will take place there throughout the day.
WHAT TO SEE IN THE TOWN
Moor Street
With lots of stalls, Moor Street will host Gingerbread, food and drink and vintage stalls. Cafes, restaurants and bars will be open with special offers and Gingerbread themed food and drink.
From here, a group of strolling players will take you on a tour of Ormskirk’s historical sites, stopping at each place to entertain you.
Don’t miss our free to enter raffle with some fantastic prizes to be won including vouchers from local eateries.
Church Street
For Festival Day this will be Ormskirk’s Heritage Street. Local history and heritage groups will have stalls and here you can browse, view photographs and memorabilia and even find out how to trace your family history. A vintage band will be there to entertain you with music from the 20s and 30s.
Burscough Street
Shops will be open with special offers on the day. Here the children can also decorate their own Gingerbread biscuit. The many cafes and bars will be open.
Aughton Street
Here’s a taster for Ormskirk’s MotorFest with vintage and classic cars on show. A great chance to see these beautifully restored cars and an opportunity to talk to the owners.
And to round off your day – why not stay for your evening meal? Ormskirk has an excellent selection of cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs serving a wide choice of meals to suit every pocket.
