A local community activist turned Labour councillor has resigned - just six weeks after being elected.
Michelle Aldridge has probably made local political history after quitting citing 'personal reasons'; one current local councillor spoke of how it can be difficult to cope with the pressure of the post, especially for a newcomer.
Her Twitter account's disappeared and her resignation will see a a mouthwatering by election in the Knowsley ward where Aldridge won on a 51 per cent vote; click here for one QLocal story about her traffic safety campaign at the notorious Fiveways junction which saw her spring to prominence: http://ormskirk.qlocal.co.uk/ormskir...7-55014987.htm
No wonder there was a twinkle in the eye of defeated councilor Gareth Dowling at last night's PACT meeting at Cottage Lane Mission with OWL's Jane Thompson also bound to put her independent hat in the ring...

I wonder who the Labour Party will put forward for this vacancy! No! it wouldn’t be a certain person that lost his post in the last election could it! That would be too much of a coincidence! And of course would leave a nasty tast in the mouths of those who elected this lady on what she stood for in her election campaign!
Surly no party would be so manipuitive, would they!
