Police raced to Morrison's, Ormskirk around 9pm last night after a shoplifter threatened to attack manager Kelly Jackson.
The man - who looked to be in his late 30's was pinned to the floor near the entrance by staff before being cuffed and taken to a police van. Nine bottles of vodka and whisky - still in their security collars - were recovered from his trolley.
When challenged, he'd threatened the manager with one of the bottles, saying he would smash it over her head.
It's thought that the store will try to ban him in future - "We know what he looks like and won't let him in again," said one junior manager.
