Following the QLocal story posted yesterday re. the closure of two town centre charity shops, Cancer Research has been quick off the mark to forward this statement on the loss of one of its shops in the town.
'The Cancer Research UK shop in Burscough Street, Ormskirk, will close at the end of January 2017.
The team of volunteers would like to thank everyone who has donated over the years and those who have visited the shop.
And they would like to encourage customers to continue to support them at the Cancer Research UK shop nearby in Aughton Street, Ormskirk.
Area Manager for Cancer Research UK in Ormskirk, Sarah Loughran, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to my team of volunteers and staff who have given up their time over the years and have done a fantastic job.
“It makes sense for us to focus our fundraising effort on one shop in the town and we would love people to help us by clearing out their wardrobes and then donating any good quality clothes, shoes or home-wares to us, where it will be sold to help fund life-saving research."'
