A QLocal reader's reacted angrily after LCC cut down two large trees on Yew Tree Road as part of works to renew and repair its pavements.
It's thought their roots were endangering passing pedestrians on a particularly narrow spot - they were finally cut down on Monday with these large stumps all that remains.

I'm relieved they are gone, they were very dangerous.
One in particular took up 75 percent of the pavement, resulting in many accidents,
Over the past year ambulances have had to be called at least 10 times after people have tripped over it and seriously hurt themselves,
The elderly community, particularly those with trolleys and parents with buggies are forced to walk into the road to avoid it, which is incredibly dangerous, especially given the amount of speeding that takes place there,
Local residents have been calling on the council to take action for years, and thankfully they finally have,
Whilst I like trees, I value human life more, and those trees were endangering human life, they had to go.
