Champion reporter Kenny Parker might be feeling a little foolish after his front page piece was wrong - by around 180 degrees.
For the recent double stabbing they led on repeated the Police PR statement that the assault happened outside the Horseshoe pub when in fact it was in the triangle of land opposite The Civic and down the road from the pub.
QLocal corrected the Police statement after Horseshoe owner Mike Jones of Aughton contacted reporter Roger Blaxall on Monday afternoon about the error: https://www.qlocal.co.uk/ormskirk/new...n-55030344.htm
He's now hoping the Police PR office will correct their statement in any future news releases.
Like the Advertiser, the Champion is getting a reputation as an out of town and out of touch 'local' newspaper and the fact it's written eight miles down the road is often patently obvious...
