Drivers have been thanked for their patience as major gas works continue on the Ormskirk/Burscough border.
Cadent's diverting two gas mains to accommodate the new Taylor Wimpey housing development on the A59 High Lane; work began on 11 July and is due to be completed by 17 September and is being carried out by its contractor, Balfour Beatty.
Sara Wilcox from the Cadent media team told QLocal: "The gas mains cross the A59 and involve some deep excavations, so to keep staff and motorists safe we have had to install temporary traffic lights.
"We’d like to thank people for bearing with us while we complete this project."
Two new bungalows being built at the end of Sephton Drive on the Scott estate are also being connected to the gas main.
