To assist with the large volume of passengers attending the Giants Spectacular event, and to continue to deliver a reliable service, we are running a special event timetable, which will include a limited stop service and some stations will be closed.

This guide will explain how your journey will be affected during the event and includes new timetables, station closures and key passenger information.

Please note: as a special event timetable will be in place, your usual train times will likely have changed. Please see the below timetables before you travel.

Key Information
Plan ahead and leave plenty of time to reach your destination.
Our services and stations will be extremely busy.
There will be queuing systems in place for customer safety.
Due to the large number of passengers travelling across our network, you may not be able to get on the train you want. However, we will get you to where you need to go as quickly as possible.
Lime Street low level and James Street stations will be closed.
All Wirral line passengers are to use Liverpool Central station.
All Northern line passengers are to use Moorfields station.


Thursday 4 October
Our trains and stations are expected to be busy. A normal timetable will run, but services will be strengthened where possible. We will not be running any additional late night trains so please check your last train times before you travel.

Friday 5 & Saturday 6 October
A special event timetable will be in place and there will be station closures.
A rail replacement bus will be running between Ellesmere Port and Hooton stations.

There will be 20 minute train shuttle services between Chester & Hooton, which will call at Bache.

Services on the Hunts Cross line will start and terminate at Liverpool South Parkway.
Sunday 7 October

A special event timetable will be in place and there will be station closures.
Trains will be running on the Ellesmere Port line.
Merseyrail services will run to Hunts Cross station.
