Voluntary groups can apply now for revenue funding from West Lancashire Borough Council

Community, charity and voluntary organisations in West Lancashire are being invited to apply for revenue grants from a fund of £136,240.

The Borough Council will consider applications from registered charities, voluntary organisations, community interest companies and social enterprises that operate for public benefit.

This pot of money is just for those operating in and serving the residents of West Lancashire. Previous recipients include CVS, CAB, Age UK, Dial a Ride, Homestart and Bereavement Counselling Services.

If an application is approved, funding will be granted for the 2017-2018 financial year.

Councillor Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder with responsibility for grants to voluntary, community and charity organisations, said: "The Council is very aware of the huge impact many of these organisations have on the community and would like to support them as much as we can.

"With an ever-shrinking Council budget, we're trying our best to continue this funding stream for the benefit of our residents. We are keen to receive applications from organisations operating in West Lancashire, however small or large."

The deadline for applications is Friday 9 September. For more information, including clear criteria and an application form, please visit the Council website www.westlancs.gov.uk/grants.
