West Lancashire’s 'Walking Football' team came away beaten finalists from a tournament in the Algarve.
On the first day of the Portuguese event, the team played four games, winning three and drawing one; on the second day, they won three and lost one and reached the final.
The score at the end of the final was 1 – 1, with the game being decided on penalties - and unfortunately West Lancs lost.
The team play regularly at Edge Hill Sports campus and members live in Aughton, Ormskirk, Burscough and Skelmersdale, with all the players over 50.
Walking Football was invented to inspire men over 50 to get more exercise and counter social isolation.
