Report: Anne Grew
Parbold Douglas Music presents another of its popular Pied Piper events for schools on Thursday.
The superb folk singers Derek Gifford and Mark Dowding, both well known on the regional folk circuit, will be performing songs for the children in an interactive concert in the Auditorium at Parbold Village Hall.
In addition, Dot Hawkes, from Lathom Park Trust, will be telling them about the important role played by Lathom Park in World War I, retraining horses from the UK and overseas to be ‘War Horses’ to give children a fascinating insight into the real-life story behind Michael Morpurgo’s now very famous book.
