For the first time in many years, the damp, sombre weather matched the sombre mood at the annual remembrance service at Ormskirk St Anne's RC Church.
Councillors, MP Rosie Cooper and uniformed organisations met for a short service led by local clergy before marching to the Coronation park war memorial accompanied by Greenall's Brass Band for 11am prompt.
And pictured with the poppy made at Dempsey's cafe, Ormskirk are Lacy and Rebecca from St. Annes RC Primary school who were privileged to place the wreath of over 600 hand made poppies at the memorial.
