Did you know Ormskirk had a coach park?
Neither did QLocal's Roger Blaxall until he heard it mentioned on a recent Radio Lancashire interview.
Intrigued, he found it by, er, following a coach down Burscough St. to discover it parked opposite the Hattersley Retail Park; visitors are dropped off outside the library or at the bus station and coaches park there free all day if needed.
This from the Borough Council's PR office: "In the region of 35 coach companies use Ormskirk Market as a destination for their visitor tours at various times.
"The Council advertises Ormskirk and its market in relevant trade magazines and annual coach tour planner guides. When Council staff are aware of new coach companies arriving at the Bus Station their contact details are added to mailing lists so officers can send further details for the market, events and the town centre.
"Coaches should only drop off and pick up from Ormskirk Bus Station as there is limited parking available. However, a coach park has been constructed at the Hattersley Centre as a condition of their planning permission. If coach tour operators contact the Council in advance of a visit then they are advised to park at the Hattersley Centre."
