Report from Tess Reddington, photos by charliekphotography
A brilliant first Youth of Burscough event has raised around £900 for the leukemia charity DKMS.
No wonder - the young people of the village worked their socks off for Saturday's event, and discussed future youth provision plans with Chair of the Parish Council, Brian Kennedy, Mayor Neil Furey, and Cllrs. Cooper and Pritchard.
On the downside, the management of the cricket club had declared the ground too wet to drive on, so with no vehicles were allowed on cricket field and heavy rain just before we opened meant we lost a few attractions!
So apologies to the little ones and their parents who had hoped for more…
On the plus side, Mayor Neil Furey really joined in the spirit of the event while the fire engine, sand art, onion shy and 'beat the goalie' were really popular and the line-up of acts fantastic.
