When are the powers that be, realise that 3 or 4 PCSO's are not sufficient to Police the Town. This is getting dangerously silly now.

How many Police Officers would it take to prevent an incidence such as this ?
People make such inane knee jerk comments at a time when some poor women has been killed.

This is so sad - she would have gone to work as normal this morning expecting it to be like any other day, only for her life to have been cut short in such a tragic way. I can only try to imagine the distress her poor family, friends and her work colleagues are going through. RIP to the poor lady and condolences to all who knew her.

There was a time when I was growing up in the 60's & 70's that this type of event was a very rare occurrence, anywhere. Sadly "society" has changed a lot and not for the better. No amount of Police increases would and can stop this type of event.
This is how people in a situation whether its, domestic, social or just playing a game sometimes decide to end someones "life" because of a domestic dispute is so very very sad. This is our society I'm afraid. Yes we don't know all the reasons behind it and perhaps we shouldn't, fuels pages and sites like this unfortunately.
But its so sad, really is.

Poor, poor woman. And kids, if she's got any.
Not only do we need more police resources, we need more support for victims of domestic violence. Longer sentences when the scum start this behaviour.
God bless her loved ones.

There is no deterrent anymore. Since those idiots in Whitehall (who know better than us mere peasants), abolished the death penalty, murders and attempted murders have escalated to frightening levels. It is time that they reinstated capital punishment to deter these low life morons from even thinking about it.

I'll agree partially "no deterrent" and in a two sided approach I'd prefer the rope on occasion, however the death penalty went out in the middle 60's, even Pierrrepoint said in the end it didn't work and he holds the record for swinging them and many countries still have it with NO impact on crime really. This is a problem as I said for society. Everything is cheap now, food, things and life!!!

I would agree to a degree, unsure about the deterrent value of the death penalty, but certainly the powers that be seem to be very adept and turning vicious and violent criminals back onto the streets in remarkably short time and we also have the spectacle of violent criminals claiming compensation if they get roughed up while in jail.

I hate to spoil a good rant with facts, but Homicides generally increased from the 1960s up to the early 2000s (peak of 944 in the year ending March 2003), then there was then a general downward trend and homicides in the year ending March 2016 was not statistically significantly different to the previous 7 years. Since 2003 the annual homicide number has fallen by over 30%. (source https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulat...cide-look-like ).
