No, this town centre mystery has to do with a tongue in cheek complaint from one of our numerous Ormskirk readers miffed that her short cut off Church Street's been closed.
And this is why - Cobble has now transformed the dingy alleyway into an outside 'garden' area to enjoy a drink and snacks.

Was this a public right of way? Or had it been made so by years of practice?
