Last Thursday saw the very successful launch of the Lancashire Marketing Club at Briars Hall Hotel in Lathom.

It's been organised by local estate agent Emma Fletcher, and aims to get local businesses together to learn more about how marketing can improve their businesses and how they can implement effective, low costs marketing strategies.

Yesterday, Emma told QLocal: "When setting up Wainwrights Estate Agents in West Lancashire, I found it was a challenge to know where to start with marketing.

"I didn’t have a huge marketing budget or the capacity to employ a marketer so I was responsible for this myself.

"I spent quite a bit of money on marketing methods that just didn’t work. I set out to see if there was any local help or any peer support group specifically about marketing and couldn’t find any. So, I decided to set up my own and here we are today!”

Guest speaker and marketing expert, Sam Ashdown from the Lakes (right) presented on ‘Marketing on a Shoestring’; over 25 local business people attended and the event was very well received by all.

Added Emma: “There’s clearly an appetite for this in the area, I’m so pleased with the turnout and the amazing feedback we’ve had. I’d like to especially thanks Briars Hall for their support with this and allowing us to hold the event here.”

The Marketing Club will be a monthly event and will focus on a different topic each month.
